Contemporary Dance Classes

Chloë Nagle Çetinkaya teaches Contemporary Dance, improvisation, dance-making, yoga, and Alexander Technique to adults and children. Her classes center somatic practices, creative strategies, and personal expression. Chloë has experience teaching dance at the college-level, online, in dance studios, memory care, community centers, and performing arts centers to students of diverse ages and abilities. She has taught the Alexander Technique to musicians, dancers, actors, singers, yogis, and roller-derby enthusiasts.

Chloë is currently integrating trauma informed practices and research into her teaching methodology.  She prioritizes creating a classroom environment in which students feel seen and heard. She believes that this approach supports collaboration, creativity, connection, and curiosity. To enhance resiliency and wellness in the dance field, she also centers consent, student agency, and self-advocacy skills in her classes. Chloë earned an MFA in Dance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a certified 200 hour yoga instructor and 1600 hour AmSAT certified teacher of the Alexander Technique.

Dance for Camera Workshop: The Choreographic One-Take

University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point // April 22nd, 2022

Co-taught by choreographer and filmmaker, Kym McDaniel, and choreographer, Chloë Nagle Çetinkaya .

Workshop included an introduction to the one-take film, choreographic filming techniques, dance for camera history, discussion, feedback, and improvisational experimentation. Students from dance and film departments paired up for an hour of collaboration, choreography, and filming. The choreographic one-take collaborations screened at the end of the four hour workshop.
